During the 2006-2007 academic year, the University of Indianapolis implemented an electronic billing and payment system. University statements are e-mailed to students’ UIndy e-mail account. Use the billing and payment system to view, print, and pay a bill. Parents and employers may also be established as authorized users in the billing and payment system. Please use the E-Bill Instructional Brochure that may be found on this site to assist you with the system.
Full payment or acceptable documentation demonstrating that your balance (after financial aid has been awarded) will be paid in full must be received prior to the published deadline. Payment may be satisfied with the University Deferment Plan, TuitionPay payment plan, Employer Deferment Plan (only available for Extended, Accelerated, and some Graduate programs), or a third party billing authorization.
The University of Indianapolis accepts cash, checks, and credit cards (Mastercard, Discover, Visa, and American Express).
Payment may be made using the UIndy payment and billing system on the web, by mail, by fax, or in person.
Web payments require the student’s UIndy student ID number and PIN. The student ID number is printed on the student’s schedule of courses and on the financial aid award letter. Lost or forgotten PINs may be retrieved from the Accounting Office or from the Registrar’s Office if needed.
Payments sent through the mail should be addressed to the Accounting Office, 1400 E. Hanna Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46227. The student’s name and student identification number should be included with payment. For your security, please do not use the student’s Social Security Number as an identification number. Use the Credit Card Authorization form to fax credit or debit card information to the Bursar’s Office for tuition and fee payment. The bursar’s fax number is (317) 788-3468.
The Accounting Office is located in Esch Hall 151 for students who want to make payment in person [office hours].
The University offers a deferment plan for students who need to split their tuition and fees into two payments. One-half of the student’s balance due must be paid by the payment deadline. The balance of the student’s account must be paid within four weeks. A $40 fee is assessed for this service. Late fees will be assessed on a monthly basis if the balance of the account is not paid by the due date. The student must complete a University Deferment Form to participate. Contact the Accounting Office for assistance in completing this form.
An interest-free monthly payment option is available through the TuitionPay program through Sallie Mae. TuitionPay helps by providing more manageable cash flow and greater budget flexibility. Instead of lump-sum payments, TuitionPay allows you to pay all or part of your educational expenses in manageable monthly installments. You may use this plan to pay your balance due after financial aid. The payment plan is available for a small enrollment fee and may be used to pay for one or two semesters. By enrolling in the TuitionPay Plan, the student’s account will receive a credit each semester representing one half of the full amount of your contract or the entire contract if paying for one semester. The University will credit the student’s account in advance of making all of the payments to TuitionPay. Refunds of excess payments or financial aid will not be available to the student until the contract has been fulfilled. TuitionPay contracts may be adjusted at any time in the event more or less funds are needed to meet educational costs.
A special privilege is offered to students whose employers will reimburse student educational costs. For a small fee, the UIndy Employer Deferment Plan allows students to defer payment of tuition and fees up to two weeks after a class ends. Only students enrolled in Extended, Accelerated, and some Graduate classes are eligible to apply for this payment plan. The instructions and application for this program are available online or in the Accounting Office upon request.
As a courtesy to our students, the Bursar’s Office will accept approved tuition vouchers and will bill third party sponsors on behalf of the student. In the event a student cannot provide an approved tuition voucher by the payment deadline, a University Deferment form must be completed and a deferment fee of $40 will be assessed.
There are potential consequences if you do not meet your payment responsibilities. Late fees may be assessed on any balance remaining after the payment deadline. In addition, the University reserves the right to administratively withdraw a student who does not meet the payment deadline.
Inquiries regarding late payment fees may be resolved after the account has been settled. Late fee disputes can be reviewed only if a written petition has been received in the Accounting Office. The petition should include the student’s name and ID number, the term the late fee was charged, and the circumstances to be reviewed. A refund to the student’s account will be made if the appeal is approved.
